I attach the golden threads paper with my curved safety pins or straight pins, and that works pretty well. I remove the pins once quilting near them. I've done this several times on borders and it's come out really nice.

YaYa ... thanks! I know our LQS has some feather rolls that I've been thinking of trying

JenniKy ... A friend originated from Indiana and came to live here in Ontario as a Bride! She had an excess of beautiful glassware made in State. I have no idea where! And as things go, it's maybe only a thing of the past, as she'll be married 39 yrs this fall!

I have a full trunk of crystal and glassware my mother collected. I know some of it is probably worth something..but I am keeping it to pass on to my girls and my son later in life. I have always had a love for cobalt glass and I would like to say I own a piece but LOL I don't. I just keep telling myself when I find that perfect item or set I can't live without I will buy it in a snap. Usually if I find something I like its either too expensive or cheap glass and I really have just not found that must have piece. What I have been looking for is a set for my keepsake hutch. It's a good thing Im being too picky also..otherwise I would have a huge collection of glass like my fabric It took me three years to find and decide on the focal point picture in my living room. I probably paid too much for it also..but when I found it in that little artisan shop in Arizona I just had to have it no matter.. LOL Hubby laughed at me for a week I was so giddy over it. It's been with us ever since.

The best part of the acquisition is the quest ... And it looks like you're proof of that!!!

There was a glass company in Dunkirt, IN but they closed their doors in 2002.

Sign of the times ... so many manufacturing facilities have not been able to keep their doors open!

Good Morning Ladies ! What's everyone up to on this lovely summer day. I going out with DH for a nice breakfast then drop some parcels at the post office. Then back home for another full day of sewing. I've decided to finish up My Patriotic Town Fire Engine block today and put the binding on the sewing machine cover so I can send it off in the mail tomorrow. That will update one and wipe of three projects from the white board. Im mailing off blocks for two swaps so only one swap left. No more swaps this year, Im really going to focus on finishing up all I have going which will include finishing quilt tops from the swaps when I get the exchanged blocks back. And lets not forget Monty and friends.

With QuiltE's wonderful nudging Im super excited about attending my first retreat and meeting gardnergal and others. September is going to be a wonderfully exciting month for me. If all goes well we should also be in our new house. But we shall see..either way Im all in for the retreat.

Works4Me are you starting a different Challenge thread for the monsters??? Are you waiting till closer to October?

Have a really wonderful day everyone. Obviously Im in a really good Mood

Jenniky - Your mood is contagious. Sounds like things are going your way and I'm really looking forward to more photos of your patriotic town.

I'm sure you will enjoy your retreat.

I'm hoping to start another challenge soon. Need to get my wording right first. Hopefully, before this weekend. I'll keep everyone posted and Franky may make his debut.

Have a great day and enjoy your sewing. Me, I'm working on a killer spreadsheet. Not nearly as much fun as crafts. lol
