Luckily my DH puts in a small veggie garden, potatoes, onions, tomatoes, some herbs. I someitmes help chose the varities, that's it for me!

Yes! We do tomatoes, peas, beans, asparagus, limas, corn and white sweet potatoes. Last year we did watermelons, beets, onions and pumpkins as well. Too much to keep track of.

I also did the sunflowers along the fence line-- SO pretty and the birds loved them!

I would love your recipe, It has been to cold, wet and rainy here in Iowa. The farmers can't even get in the fields. Good Friday, not to many people have even tried to plant those early seeds.

Last year I decided to plant at least 4 tomatoe seeds in each started pot thinking Id get one out of 4. we had 80 plants and so many tomatos our neighbors started hiding when they saw us coming with yet another bag full. Everything else I've tried ends up eaten or dies. My mother, whocan grow anything and is not happy unless she has dirt under her nails has given me topsy turvys fr strawberries and plants as well as one for tomatos- we'l see what we get.

I have tried several recipes for dills, but the best one I have found is actually the refrigerator Kosher pickles packets in the store. Since they are not boiled, they are the only ones that have any crunch to them. I have an extra frig in our garage, so I have room to store them. I make one pack every year, which results in ~6 pints. I made one recipe last year, where you only had to process/ boil for ~5 min. and they ended up being rubbery noodles. Bleh

I would like the recipe for the tomatoe sauce please.. Does any one use a food dehydrator? i have veggies and would love to dry them but dont know what kind to get, not supper expensive just one that is moderate price that will do the job.
