Do you do the "lost and then found" routine?

I'm not a jewelry person on a daily basis - I wear a watch and a plain wedding band. That said I do own about 5 pair of very expensive earings that I will wear on occasion - all are gem stone studs because I don't like any jewelry that isn't firmly attached to my body :)
I looked for them recently, wanted to wear my Emerald studs with diamond baguettes and could not find them ... or ANY of the others ANYWHERE!
I finally found them a few weeks later still in the travel case that I used when I brought my jewels on vacation to Jamaica in October!
DOH!!
