    Is this one considered a chain? It looks like it to me - the only difference is the 'snowball' instead of solid squares...

    I call this one "After the Rain" because it looks like swirly orange Alabama clay!

    I have made several irsh chain quilts,I like to use Elanor Burans quilt in a day book. If you have nothing else to do that day,you really can make the top in a day..I love her books

    Believe it or not, this is an Irish Chain quilt - Traditional pattern, very NON-traditional fabrics (batiks). My friend's daughter made the quilt, and did a wonderful job. She wanted an oriental feeling to the quilting, so I quilted it with bamboo through the "chains", and scaled fish swimming around the border and in the centers. She won the Judge's Choice ribbon at our county fair.

    Wow, this is an old thread, but so many gorgeous Irish Chain quilts on this thread, there is Patrice's and Terri's, and soooo many beautiful quilts...think i'll send this over to the virtual section...just gorgeous everyone :)

    I have actually done two. I believe they are both single Irish Chains. I love them! The first one was for my brother when he got married. I embroidered their names and date in the center. The second one was for an auction for my dad's Lion's club fund raiser. I wanted to keep the second one so bad. I loved the colors together!
