I agree - you're doing a superb thing for this young soul, and the colors and widths are perfect. THANK YOU for doing this - so much bullying, so many girls out there with budding eating disorders. Where does all this loathing come from to create such self-loathing?!?!? Awful.

The bullying of the young girl needs to be stopped whatever the reason. I think you are wonderful for making this quilt for this young girl. I can imagine how thrilled she will be when she sees it!
Well, as far as the PR and Health teacher being heavy, I would bet you will quite a few "heavy" people who are in better physical condition than some of the thinner counterparts. Plus, knowing that I SHOULD eat a certain amount of food, what are good and bad calories and how much exercise I should get is a WORLD of difference from my actually doing it. Having studied nutrition, I KNOW can teach someone what to do and what to eat, but that chocolate cake....can't stay away!Maybe it's the same with the teacher!

I made a quit for my granddaughter using a color scheme similar to yours. I paper pieced it using the attached pattern, but you can make any variant of the basic layout (and you would not have to paper piece, either). I made one central heart, and then just put on a piano key type border. Very simple - and you can enlarge the pattern to any size you like.

I really like the staggered sizing. It really looks great. I'm not quite as creative, so I really appreciate seeing others who can have such a visualization. Good for you for doing something nice for the little girl. We need more people like you in this world.
