I'm new to this, and the other day I tried making a jelly roll quilt. I was DEAD SET on making a jelly roll quilt. Well, I ended up cutting the wrong ends and the entire roll which reached from 3 rooms in to pretty much the door to my apartment was ruined in terms of making a jelly roll. But I didn't throw it out and I'm not giving up, even though at the time I felt like a failure (and I hadn't even gotten midway to finishing it). Instead, I'm just going to cut the strips and make a different type of quilt out of it.

Please do not give up. I live in the Denver area and would be happy to come by and help you work through this.

Default I'm in tears no more!

Thank you to all of you who replied to my post. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. When I made that post, I was quite upset. A person makes all that effort and then you realize your mistake and it seems like the end of the world. I took a little time to mellow out, then set out to figure out how to make a quilt with all the pieces that I had already cut from my strips. Well, it is now redesigned and I will soon start sewing it together. When I finish (and it may be awhile), I will try to figure out how to post pictures on this site and show you the original pattern and the quilt it turned out to be. The pattern is Fractured Flowers by Marcia Harmening. Thanks again for all your encouraging words.

    Sincerely,
    Dreaming

When you get up tight just remember to take a few deep breaths.

I knew you would be able to build a quilt from what you had, and I am glad you jumped in and did that! Well done!!

    Smile No more tears

A couple of weeks ago I posted a thread on how I had cut my some of my pieces the wrong length and how upset I was. I want to thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. I am not quiting and I'm on my way putting pieces together after redesigning my quilt with the wrong size pieces. So wish me luck and I will post a picture when I'm done. Thanks again to everyone.

Good luck with your redesign. You will be the only one who knows that it didn't quite turn out how you had visualized it....except for all of us, that is.

Hang in there. It will turn out just fine, probably better than the original plan!!
