Here is an idea - Get 2 identical inexpensive file cabinets. Then, to a salvage shop to buy a countertop that you can ask someone to drill out a well for your machine. Put the file cabinets on each end of the countertop - and VOILA! Your own sewing table - whatever size you want!

If your sewing machine does not fit down into the cabinet, giving you a level sewing surface, what is the advantage of having a special table or cabinet?

That is a good cabinet and a good price but if I was you I would check at WalMart and maybe even craigslist too.
    Good luck,

I have an input to sewing cabinets...what I use.
I have 1 sewing cabinet that came from an auction with my 1957 Singer (call her Nellie) cause she sews like a dream. But for my other machine I am using a computer table that was left behind when my kids moved out. I also have an old secretary desk that was given to me. My embroidery machine sits on it and oh the drawers are absolute.
I usually try to save for other things like fabric...so I tend to be a bit frugel.
The sewing tables that were posted are great..but I use what I have and love it.

Although Michael indicated he would wait, this thread got me checking on these two tables. I ordered the one from Wal-Mart, (without the machine). The stores no longer have them here, so I ordered it on-line, but with free shipping to my local store. I think it will be very serviceable for my second machine, since I already have a hydralic table for my Bernina!

(Thanks to all who suggested the Wal-Mart one, I can't wait for it to arrive!)

I got mine from IKEA in case you are interested. I had to put it together and each were sold separately.
Great solution. Howoes that desk height work for you when you sew?
