Pick up a mini-bar frig and microwave when searching for fabric at Goodwill stores.
Add a tea kettle ... and life is complete! :)

I like the room but I think that the sofa should stay. It makes a nice comfortable corner for your room.

If I did that - I'd never see the husband and eventually I'd have to come downstairs to claim the body - he would starve to death, poor boy can't even boil water. LOL
