How good a cut you get depends on the talent of the stylist.
I go to Wallmart and get a fantastic cut in their Salon!

i spent 75.00 today on an "updo" for dd prom... didn't know the price ahead of time, for sure.... didn't even include a cut or wash....

i generally get mine cut once a year or so.. i just trim my bangs myself... my hair is so thick & curly that if i cut it wrong... it won't show up anyway...

I also have thin limp hair, and the secret is to go to someone who has the same kind of hair. They will know the tricks.

I spend about the same, $50 for cut and color including tip. I have been going to the same person for about 20 years so I think she gives us a better price, and does the whole family. She works as an independent in a salon so her prices are set by her, not the shop.

I find with natural curly hair you have to be very picky about your hair dresser. When I hear, "Is this all natural curl?" I know I am in for 4 weeks of bad hair. That said I spend $15 a hair cut plus tip. If I was only going once a year I would pay more, but can't afford it since I go every 3 to 4 weeks.

That has been my problem too. I went to my daughters salon because she had bragged so on her stylist. First haircut great, second so-so, third awful. I just can't get a good haircut and I think my cut is really simple. I have decided I don't know how to describe the cut I want. Well, maybe not, it also seems like I get the cut the stylist wants me to have not even close to what I tell them.

Could you find a picture of what you llike and take that with you?
When someone comes in with a picture, I always tell them I will get close to it as possible, after all I'm not the one that cut that hair in the first place and you don't know how the stylist did it...plus your hair isnt the same as the other person in the picture, usually you won't get the same hair cut! I hated when people would bring me in pictures...

I color my own hair. I go to the beauty supply store and get it at my discount...
I have my license, and I cut everyone eles hair for free no less. So its my treat...
Hey I think my family should get together and pay for mine! LOL
You know that a good ideal, I need Highlites so bad...I cut my own hair cause I'm trying to let it grow so I just nip the ends a little...
