i'm sure somewhere in my 53 years there is one that could be considered...the best- as for the worst--2011!!!
so far in 5 1/2 months i have been hit with so many different things...i have had years where there was (something) that made it the worst event of my life (to that point) like the year my daughter died, or the year i was fighting for custody of a son...
but those year's i dealt with one, hard situation...this year...it just keeps coming from every direction....and it started on new years eve...i've reached the point where when my phone rings i sit and look at it...and finally with shaking hands timidly pick it up and say hello...
case in point...this past week -- close family friend...been there as long as i can remember- passed away on sunday...closest younger brother passed away on friday, and received a call last night- closest uncle (the one who was the closest thing i had to a father) will probably be gone before i can get off work and get there today...
and this hasn't been the worst week of the year so far...
if i survive 2011 i will be amazed...and amazingly strong...because i must be gaining extra-ordinary strength dealing with each new day's events...makes me not want to think about what could possibly be next...

2004--Bad Year--I was working with behavior problem kids at school. Each day was a struggle. Dad died in May. Aunt I was very close to died in December.
2007--Bad Year--Diagnosed with cancer on January 3rd. Surgery and 7 rounds of chemo. Finished in July, but not really recovered until that winter.

Best year--Well, 2011 has gone pretty well. Turned 40, been with my guy for 3 years...married 1 of them....., graduated with my master's degree, had a small windfall of cash that will allow us to finish our log cabin. Hope the rest is as fruitful.

Year? I have good and bad weeks. Argh... My three teen daughters like to keep things interesting. :)

I would like to say that I havent had a "best" year yet...

Worst was 2003. My BF of 4 years and Hubby to be (at the time) left to work in Nevada (I am in WA). My parents retired and moved 3 hours away... I was truly feeling "left" with my three girls. :( Being a single mom is TOUGH without family around.

I don't have a "worst" year ... and every year is better than the last! So far my "best" year is 2011. :):):)

Worst was 1988 -1992 took four years to get divorced! Learned the hard way that attorney's have a built in incentive to make the process go on and on ( more fees). Wish I had those years back! Spent way to much time in anger!
Best year ...1998 the year I gave up "the Corporate " life and started on the path to my own company.
