I've been a wife for 56 years, mom to 3, ages 54, 52, 46. Grandma to 4, ages 29, 29, 27, 26.
I spent the first 23 years following Navy husband around the world a few times and making a home wherever we were. Also was a professional volunteer... Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sunday School, Room Mother, etc.
Now DH and I are both retired? We travel a lot in a motorhome and meet new people and visit our family. Stay busy at home when we are here. Life is good, and we are thankful for our blessings.

It's a very demanding job and not being paid in monies, hugs and kisses off course, which is more rewarding!
I am a lunch lady or a food manager in an elementary school.
Husband jokes with me sometimes saying that I'm fired. And easy to replace.I laugh saying go ahead you cant afford it!!

I am an unemployed research lab technician, In-vitro laboratory specialist and soon to be, a funeral director. Can't wait to get started on this new phase of my life. So fan the preparation process has been amazing!

((Being a mom is a job, but if you do it right you end up nearly obsolete.))
About this.....WHEN are you obsolete??? Mine are 23 and 25 and I'm not obsolete! I've definately done something wrong!!I keep trying to get fired but thet're not having it.

The rest of us with titles will someday give them up but you will be "mom, wife, dtr, & friend" forever.
I'm an RN but retired early due to husband's health.

If you flip the word "Mom" upside down you get "Wow" and I can't say that about my paying job!! Mom's have the most important job - nurturing, developing a child's skills, loving them unlike a babysitter can, etc. etc. etc.
