You will miss the people and the day-to-day catching up. But that will pass as you get involved in quilting and all the others activities that will fill your life. Happy Retirement from one who knows.....

I read your post to my husband and his ears perked up! He retired May 31 from federal law enforcement. His new leather machine arrived and he has set up his own "man cave" to sew chaps, belts, briefcases, etc. My sewing room is at the other end of the house! We share a love of sewing and making things, each in our own special way. My son wants a jeans quilt, which my husband said he will quilt on his machine if I want! Wohoo! After all the years of him away and going 90 miles an hour, we can finally enjoy each other and good hobbies together! I am so happy for you! Enjoy your family and quilting!

Congrats...I retired last year and really love this new life. I'm sure you will too...and you can spend lots of time on the quilt board!

Lucky You!! I'm a 911 Dispatcher and it's the big 4th of July celebration in the town where I work so you know how that goes.... Retirement is a long ways away for me.
