Sounds like a really wonderful trip to me. Vacations are about getting away from the stresses and ho hum of your daily life and doing the things YOU really enjoy.

You're right perfect vacation. Just relax and enjoy what you both like to do the most and rarely have the time uninterrupted. I am so happy for you. Not sure about unpacking the car though. LOL

A little trip away is supposed to be where you do whatever you want to do. So if quilting and fishing was your pleasure then I hope you got a lot of pleasure out of what you wanted to do. :-P

Even though this is a long thread I just want to say this is a great story and I'm glad for you that you had an opportunity to have this time "together".

All the girls I work with don't understand it when I say I'm going to Camp UBE this weekend. They all know it's my home and being there is my vacation. It is in the country and I feel away from the busy world where I can spend time doing what I love with no interruptions. I am very lucky, and I hope you get to do this get away idea again real soon.

I'm so glad you posted that. I thought I was being a "bit off" because I'm going to visit my daughter for a week and I've already packed my sewing machine. I am excited to get in some sewing and look for some new fabric! Oh, and see my mother, daughter, grandkids and new great grandaughter. When I asked my daughter if it would be alright to bring my machine and she said" mom, you do what ever you want! But we're going to see Harry Potter on Sunday with the grandkids." She's a peach.
