Everything goes with green. It is Nature's way.

I discovered the Ultimate 3-in-1 Color Tool and used it to choose fabrics for an illusions class. I started with my border fabric and chose nine colors that played nicely with it. I don't know how I ever picked fabrics without it.

I've attached a closeup of one block and the finished top.

Do you mean the Illusions Sampler? It's not a pattern, it's Karen Combs technique. In the class we learned how to take a common block like Jacobs Ladder or Snails Trail and transform them into cube illusions.

We were supposed to only pick one block, but I couldn't decide on just one so I made a sampler. Some of the blocks are my original designs. It was alot of fun to make.

I also use the 3-in-1 Colour Tool and find it a great help - and I also use the colour dots on the selvedge.

Nope, I have an exceptional ability when it comes to colors and have been an Interior designer for over 35 years. I also used to oil paint, and there is nothing like hands on to get a feeling for your color, just trust your instincts.:)

I agree about using the color dots. It gets rid of the pattern and you only see the color. Also staying in a fabric line can help. Some of my Moda from 3 years ago still work well with today's.
