I love to read about how diverse we are...all kinds of different and interesting lives but we have one thing in common.

I'm retired now but practiced law for 30 years, mostly as a municipal attorney specializing in labor and employment law. I did not start college until 25 then kept going and working for 7 years until I had the JD. I worked for lawyers for nearly 10 years until I became one.

Happy day in my life when I got my law license...even happier day when I became an "inactive" lawyer when I retired!!

Sadly my degrees are not lettered, they do not come with paper, but come from life lived, wisdom and knowledge from circumstances, and continuing education classes. Retired now, but in past I always chose to learn more and rise to new positions. That same energy pushes me to new techniques in fiber art. However, my husband is a mechanical engineer, PE, and I love how our creative thinking is very similar.

I have a BS in Accounting minor in religion and hope to start a MS Accounting in the next five years. Teaching college is on my bucket list so I have some educational hurdles.

In the meantime I teach my kids.

BA in English Literature with certification to also teach History/Government. MBA in Finance. If I could have swung it I would have been a professional student thus Adult Education classes in Spanish, Russian, etc. Was working full time while getting my MBA and that was not as much fun. I cannot imagine also having a family to nurture at the same time. At any rate, I love learning and know I was lucky. I also know that there are a lot of people who do a lot of other things much better than I do. That is what makes a community!
