I'm Jacque.
I'm a quilter of about 5 years, after being a full time homeschooling mom and sewist of twenty-five years! Whew! I still work full time as a manufacturer's rep, so I have to make time for my quilting therapy! We have three kids, but no grandkids yet, so I am still hoping... :) Glad to meet everyone here, and hope to be a valued part of the community!

Love Beaufort - also crowded now. We've been here long enough to remember Beaufort as a very nice seaside town, just a regular little town. Now its become rather "artsy schfartsy" . I think, unless the people of the town try to keep things in check, Beaufort will be HHI # 2. HHI is nice, but too much like up north for us. The park beach is very family friendly and usually very uncrowded.
for anyone who wants to "know" this area find the movie(oldie) The Water is Wide. Its from Pat Conroys first novel (think it was his first), set in the area and filmed here I think. About (his) first job as a teacher in an all black school on an island across from Beaufort. parts of Forest Gump was filmed in the area too. sharet
