I was all set to sandwich the quilt that I made for our new DGD, (Newton sheep set in pastel stars with pinwheel accents) when DD asked if I had already made something because they had redone the baby furniture and something bright would be really nice. Arrrggggh!!! She could not have told me this a month ago???

So went thru my stash and then went shopping--a little further from home than usual since I KNEW our LFS had nada. I have a couple of accent fabrics in bright kid motif but needed co-ordinates. Found marbled fabric in pink, green, yellow, blue and purple for $5-7 a yard. Also found another cute accent fabric for about the same price--and I can use the marbled stuff for both. Then went to a goodwill shop and found a twin sized top sheet for $2.50 AND it has 6 repeats of grapes, leaves and vines.

Total cost for the day--13 yards of fabric plus two sheets--$90.

The creative energy this has inspired--priceless!

6 repeats; sounds like a one block wonder, or kaliadascope?

Design some nice bright blocks for the backing and the quilt would be reversible. Just an idea.
