I really love your quilts! Are the flowers appliqued? Haven't seen that pattern before. I went to a school that had Eagles as the mascot, so there were Eagles on lots of bags, jackets, quilts, etc. Haven't seen one as pretty as yours! Seems like it is a Jacob's Ladder variation? You should be proud of these!

I was trying desperatly to finish 3 quilts before the end of the year but it just isn't going to happen so I have to be happy with 2 and I will start the New Year working on my PHD (projects half done)
The first quilt is machine appliqued, my DD started it and Mum finished it for her. The original pattern was call Midnight in the Tropics and was designed by a local lady. We changed the colours a lot and called in Afternoon in the Tropics.
The second quilt I made for my DH, he hasn't seen it yet, I just finished the binding last night. There are 15 machine embroidered eagles 61/2 inches.
I quilted both quilts, they each took me about 6 days and the eagle used 19 bobbins on my domestic sewing machine so there is a lot of quilting.
Hope you like them

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words, now to drag my last PHD out of the cupboard and finish it. My New Years resolution, make as many quilts as I want to, use my stash so I don't feel guilty buying some more and most of all have fun with life and be kind every day

I wish it was only 2 in the past year, but these are the only ones I have posted pics of (naughty me) I made 15 single bed quilts for victims of Cyclone Yasi, and had another 6 big finishes but they haven't been quilted yet
But these were the ones that I really wanted to finish

Yes I love to piece and work with lots of small pieces, the fabric for both quilts all came from my stash and DH will be presented with the eagle tomorrow when he returns home from work. The floral quilt is hanging in my DD,s apartment
