Default A new bank to save for a stash with!

I went to an auction today, with an eye on a Featherweight. It promptly went for $300, fairly far over my budget. But the day wasn't a total loss. I bought a quilt (pictures as soon as I find somewhere to spread it out) and a Singer book bank. It's got money in it (!!), but alas, no key. I've already mangled a couple of paper clips trying to open it, so I think I'll take it to our local jeweler on Tuesday and see if he can do it. I remember him telling me one time that opening jewelry boxes was a fairly common request, so I have hopes, since this is probably a similar sort of lock. Mostly I just want to see what's in there (that I can hear rattling) and see if I can get an idea on dates based on the coin dates.

Think this will be big enough for a nice stash?

That's really neat, and the quilt looks like it might be quiet old. Let us know how the bank and contents turn out.

The quilt you got is very nice...but the bank is outstanding!!! I don't think I've ever seen one.

Very cool bank! I hope it has some coins in it and not washers.
