I made a placemat sized mini twister quilt out of the scraps from the 10 inch square twister. I think that the scrap blocks were 4 inches.

Love it! I always thought this type of quilt would be difficult. Thanks for sharing.

I love your quilt. I purchased the Lil Twister tool and a book of patterns, but I was hesitant to start because I was afraid that there would be so much waste. Thanks for the info. I will have to check out some sites for suggestions on saving fabric waste.

Don't be hesitant. The waste is usable in many ways. Make a Thimble Quilt or a Thimble Stocking from the waste if you make a Twister out of Christmas fabric. Your waste can be cut down into squares for a scrappy project or a smaller Twister project. I love using the Thimble template for Twister waste and Beth Cardoza created a beautiful stocking pattern using the Thimble Template and waste from a Christmas themed Twister.

My avatar is one. I designed it using the Primitive Pinwheels Tool, but you could also make it with Lil' Twister. My website is in my signature. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have.

There is about a 25% shrinkage from the original sewn squares. I am teaching the "squaredance" block this week, which is basically the same thing.
