My Grand Mother's gift to me.

This quilt was made in 1951, it was made by my Grand Mother who was 67 at the time, she was considered a very good quilter. I got it out to show my quilt group so I took a photo. I just thought I would share it with this group too. I truely cherish it; in fact I don't use it, getting it out was such a treat. The second photo is to show the edging she did. Name: P2241061.JPG

Oh, it is beautiful!. It is also similar in design to a quilt I have that was my aunt's grandmother's. Unfortunately, that one is not in good shape. Enjoy your treasure.

Oh, what a treasure you have there. The quilt is beautiful but the binding is breath taking. Love it and take it out to hug every now and then!!!!!

What a very lovely heirloom you have. I love the colors of the era. She was a wonderful quilter.

That is beautiful! I love her fancy edge with the dresden plate petals! Look at the 1&1/2 inch hand quilted cross hatching done over the entire quilt, that is a true treasure!

That is gorgeous! Oh my gosh, it is just incredible. You have taken such great care of it. I love the white fabric with the colors they complement each other so well. What a cherished piece of your grandmother for you to have. That's wonderful.
