I think using just 3 colors the block appears to float.

I like these with three colors. I have a special fabric that it might work with quite well. Thank you for asking the question.

Do a search on here for -"black, white and turquoise" lovely D9P. My friend just started a D9P with one med size print and two small coordinating prints - looks really cute!

also, another question. How much fabric do you think i need to buy for say about a full/queen size? Oh, and my colors are purple and tourqoise. i thought i would do a dark purple and lighter purple and touq. for the middle.

I like using just three fabrics for a D9P, though I tend to make my first border a different color. Here are three pictures. The first two are cat-sized for my mother's cat, but the last is a twin size. In each I used a focus fabric that was one directional, but once I figured out how to do that, the rest was pretty easy. Hope this helps....
