When I reorganize (actually "clean") it ALWAYS leads to lost items: "Oh, there it is. I've been looking for a year!"

Found items are always good!! It's only after repurchasing that I find whatever the gremlins hid.

Today, I plan to gather all my novelty fabric and put it in one container. I know I did this once or twice before but I keep finding fabric in the wrong places. Does that happen to any of you?
I think its a proven fact that no one can find anything after getting organized. At least that is how it is for me. hehehe

Oh heavens yes!!!! I can lose something I had in my hands 2 seconds ago.. I find lost things and lose new things even when they are right in front of my face.

And I thought this was just a man and his garage's problem! My husband can never find anything...but then he never puts "anything" away!! OK...I guess I have this problem sometimes too!

In my house his name is Ray. I don't mind Ray cleaning up after himself and putting things back - JUST NOT MY THINGS. Every time he cleans up after me things go missing - it's like he puts them into an alternative dimension of the universe.

When my studiois a mess, I can usually put my hand right on anything I am looking for. I cleaned and straightened all my supplies and fabrics, and I am still loking for things from two months ago!

I have that problem, too. Although I did start putting paper labels on drawers and bins with tape and when I add to it I put it on the label, if I take it out and move it I cross it off. When I need a new label it is easy to take off and start another one. I have misplaced fewer things this way.

Losing items is my specialty! I don't like to organize things because it initially leads to lose of that one spool of thread or that one quilting template. None-the-less, when I do it right and not allow myself to just set things on the table, the chair on the pile near the machine but in its designated place. I CAN find my things. This is not limited to my sewing/quilting materials but my kitchen, office and holiday decorations. Silly me! I have spent most of my life trying to be organized but keep sabotaging my self with messiness.
