Whats wrong with this quilt/wallhanging?

Needs a black sashing
My goal was to make a wall hanging for a room in my house, but now I'm not so sure I like what I did.
I found a quilt pattern that uses a layer cake, cut into pieces, then resewn them back into these blocks with different colored triangles in the center. Since the color theme of the room is the antique gold with black furniture, I used the gold fabric for the triangles. Then I layed out the rows in the way the layer case was presented (light to dark). I started adding triangles from to give some more contrast, but I fill the gold is overpowering. I walked away from it for a couple of hours, and now I am asking for ideas. Do I need to rearrange the blocks? Get rid of some of the gold triangles? Just finish it as is? I was going to do the polkadot for binding, not border. I've done almost 1/2 of the blocks.

Turn the diamonds pointing downward to the right one 90degree turning.. Then you will end up with 2 diagonal rows running top right to bottom left. Will that work.?
Initially to me it looked like a jumble of triangles. Colours didn't bother me.

Well I LIKE IT! I see diagonal rows of blocks...light, medium and the bottom right corner is the dark. Yes, i see "dancing" gold triangles in the wall hanging but I like it. It is fun and i just wish that I could see this in person. I have a feeling that I would like it even more!
It is not like you are going to try to re-do this are you? I say leave it alone and enjoy it. Oh, i went back to look at it and it is not sewn together...duh on my part!
Take a picture of this arrangement ( ok, it is early here!). and then play with other arrangements and take pictures to compare. But, i also like it as it is. The gold is still going to be a standout but, i do like the fun of it.

I rearranged the gold to go all the same way. There are a couple of triangles where you have the fabric pattern going opposite than the rest of that block (indicated by the red 'x'). - Hope you don't mind I did this. Seeing it this way maybe you can visualize where you might want to make changes.

I still like the first arrangement. The gold triangles are no longer "fun". I like the movement in the first one.
I wanna see what the border will look like.

I like the light to dark background is nice but I think I arrange all the triangles in the same direction then stand back and look at it. Sometimes if you walk away for an hour or so you will get a different opinion. Good luck with however you make it and please post a pic of the finished quilt.
