Default Newbies - what do you spend more time doing - quilting or reading the board?

I swear I am hooked on this board! I honestly don't know if I have touched my machine since I found it. I love reading all the posts - I am learning so much and seeing so many beautiful quilts! But I am not quilting. That is not entirely true, I do work on my hand done cathedral windows quilt when out and about, but not my machine quilt. When I am home, I find I spend all of my "quilt time" on this board! I think I am an addict...

    Anyone else have this problem?

I did the same thing when I first found this board. I would stay up late and look at ALL kinds of things. Now I get on it in the morning and at night. Still find time to quilt. This board has a wealth of information. All yo have to do is ask and you will get answers. Enjoy and welcome!!

So far, I have been just reading and not quilting. Have been collecting fabric for stash for past few weeks. But, soon. Very soon, I plan to be cutting and sewing...

What she said. At first there was just so much new information. I read through the ENTIRE machine embroidery thread one night, all 300+ pages of it. Now I just check it a couple of times a day. May even go two or three days w/o even looking at it if I'm busy. Welcome, and remember, there is no such thing as a silly question. It's how we learn.

I'm bad....first thing I do when I come home from work is to get a big glass of tea and sit down and start reading the board. It's my way of winding down, but then we don't get supper as early as we should either! Just because I'm busy reading the board. haha.

Hilary! You hit it right on the head! Besides which, what is this business about Newbies.......I'm an oldie for sure here, and I spend way too much time on this board, too. But, being retired allows that usually. We tend to sleep less, move less, do what we please when we please, and not take much "direction" from anybody we don't want to (such as 'people' telling us to "get off that computer and fix dinner", etc.!)

I notice, Hilary, that you spell your name with one "L". My daughter, age 42, is also named Hilary, after her father's middle name. His family was of English lineage. What's the origin of your name, Hilary?
