Default Echo Quilting Around Flowers & Leaves

If i echo quilt around the flowers and leaves do I use the dark green thread on the beige block so that the quilting doesn't stand out on the back but is very prominent on the front or do I echo in the beige color on the flowers and let the echo quilting stand out on the back. I have done SITD around all of the squares and around the borders of the flowers. I have also done SITD on the two borders. The back is dark green. Here is a picture of the quilt I am talking about

That's really pretty! Personally, I'd do the echo quilting in the either a cream on the front. You can use a different color on the back if you are comfortable with that. If not, the cream will look fine on the back. If you use a dark color to echo quilt on the front, it would distract you from the pretty floral blocks. JMHO

Ilike when the quilting shows on the bac k. Made purple one for DGD. Used one ofo the colors and it was a muslin back. So far, not a complaint....To me it just shows more of the love that goes into each quilt.

How about using dark green just inside the center motifs?

That is beautiful. Would love to do one with the cardinal fabric I have. Do you have a pattern you would like to share?

That is some gorgeous fabrics!!! I would use a cream to do the echo quilting. If you are going to do this by machine you can try to do a cream on top and a green in the bobbin but I have not had much luck pulling this off. I usually either have little dots of the bobbin thread on the top or the top thread showing on back.

It really isn't my own pattern. I just used the blocks that was a part of this line and cut them to fit the 9 patch blocks that were 2 1/2" unfinished. I actually have to give credit to another board member who had made a wall hanging from this same line of fabrics. When I saw hers, I just fell in love with it.

I would do it in cream on top and dark on back. You should really do it the way you will be most happy with it!! You sure made a beautiful quilt!!!!!!!!!!

I just made a 9 patch with 2 1/2" unfinished blocks and then cut the panels to fit the 9 Patch block. Very simple
