well, My BFF's mother used furniture polish. However I need to add that my friends son who was about 15 at the time nearly broke his neck when he stepped on the floor. Needles to say BFF had to redo her mother's "help".
good luck.

Lightbulb Hardwood Floor Cleaner

This worked beautifully on my hardwood floors.

1/4 Cup Vinegar
1 tsp Dish Soap
1/4 Cup Soda (Either washing or baking sodas will work)

Mix with 2 Gallons of hot water.

This mix will help remove the residue left by Murphy's Oil Soap.

Good luck !
