I used up BOXES of Christmas fabric to make Christmas Stockings for our Deployed Troops. Simple, one layer of fabric on the back and front, with or without a cuff -all are OK. FMI: http://www.operationcarepackages.org
See info, below:
Any type of material is fine. As are embellishments or plain. I would just ask that you keep in mind we send to thousands more men than women and usually do not have near enough for men.
Crazy Quilt style is fine too! Thank you so much for your continued support.

If you want to make quilts and have larger prints MSQC has fast and easy quilt patterns. My absolute favorite is the Double Slice Layer Cake. It works well with larger print fabrics. Quilts go together in no time. It sounds like now you have lots of great ideas. Can't wait to see your projects!

Me too and I've picked a great bunch of runners and toppers to make for gifts. Also am making two tree skirts. Plan on doing many stockings for the new members of our family. I have started on my Christmas sewing, a new plan for me as I usually wait until November and then end up sewing like a nut. I also picked up some tea towels on sale at Missouri Star Quilt and will fussy cut some and applique them to the towels. Whatever you decide, have fun as that is what quilting is supposed to be.
