My contract ended and I moved back to west central Wisconsin to our permenant home and decided to reclaim the basement as my sewing "lair" I started with this... I repainted and ended up with a main sewing area, a longarm room ( with no longarm...yet!) and a restoration room for vintage machines. I still need to figure out a better cutting area where I could layer quilts as well, but for now I am pretty pleased with my little retreat! Any ideas for improvement greatly appreciated...I am at an impasse as far as moving things around, the white cabinet will be moved out, maybe a cutting table there?...out of inspiration!

Can't see how large the white cabinet is but if it's big enough can you find another similar in size, attach a large piece of plywood and turn it into a cutting table? or like your cabinets with your stash, put two together and attach plywood to it. Once again how about a large executive size desk or wooden dining table.

I have two rooms on the second floor of our house but wish I had a nice huge basement with lots of light to spread out more. Enjoy your room.
