I read your post about fabric and tula pink has awesome seashell fabric out there. Not sure what the line is called tho.

I love string quilts, perhaps in their wedding colors.

My favorite go to pattern is the wonderful Trip Around the World. It can have so many different looks. You can use as many or as few fabrics you want (I like 8 fabrics) and some borders.

Keep in mind what part of Italy they will be in, the cooler north or the warmer south, both for colors and weight.

Im makig a different style each time, I just try to find out their colors, my daughter got one for people to sign but the others will get a couch cuddle size! They will love whatever you make so I dont think the patterns that important! My opinion
