Don't know if anyone else inquired about the 1/4 million $ rare machine, but I forwarded the database info on that serial number to the seller and his reply to me was "it only takes one sale". His listings indicates that he is in the tire and rim business. None of his other products carried such a high price. My best guess other than ignorance of the merchandise value, is he was told that people who collect vintage/antique machines are in the 2% of the wealthiest people on the planet where price is no object! Gee!! That is a great feeling, now I must double check my investment portfolio!!

He has had that listing up for at least two years. He knows he won't sell it at that price, many people have told him what that machine is really worth. It's just a gimmick to get people to look at his other stuff.

Look at that wood glow! That's perhaps my favorite industrial decal. Yes, it's Singer's most common, but do you think I can get one in person here for some reason? I love the drop leaf on the table too.

I love that industrial too. One day I'll have an industrial machine though I don't know where I would put it.

A good price - just kind of wonder about where the seller got their information. . .

(do we dare tell Jon that Davis is an "off brand"? LOL!!)

I'd say "forgotten brand" would be accurate. "Off Brand" is a matter of preference methinks.
