But those sowing machines are sooo cute! Is that a 301? Seems like a waste of something a lot of folks want to me!

That's what I was thinking. Unless they used a gutted one the machine was worth more than the tractor.

This over priced sowing machine must have fallen off the pumpkin truck, too.
Any ideas why they clip the cords in Southern Indiana??? I find that all the time in that area.
I've seen some antique dealers cut cords for liability reasons. The person buying the item has to modify the item after they buy it before they can even plug it it. That way it's not the seller's fault if they burn the house down. It's not a practice I approve of. It's too hard to match the old cloth covered cords. You can buy new cloth covered wire and I have but it never quite matches the old stuff. That and if I buy an old toaster I want it to be a working old toaster.

OMG a Black 301. Is there enough of it left to re-make the machine???

"OWWM Rule No. 1: The seller, standing in front of the machine with access to all sides and in full daylight, will not/cannot describe the machine correctly."

From the old woodworking machine forum I belong to. It seems to apply to sewing machines too.

Jim that machine you posted is beautiful. It looks like it's worth it to me, not that I can afford it. When are you likely to see another one?
