Default Help with border choice.please

I made this lap quilt and purchased fabric from Hancocks on line for the backing that I also planned to use for a 3 inch border. I thought the colors would match the dominant colors in the quilt...but the red colors look somewhat faded. the fabric came from the French General line same line as the quilt top. ..but different fabric name.
I can still use the fabric for the back: however don't know if I should eliminate the border print or leave the quilt as a UFO and continue to search for one of the fabrics in the quilt . What do you think?

If you are asking about the printed red/tan fabric with the flowers/leaves that is lying there, it looks good to me
But maybe if I saw it 'in person' it would look different. What I see looks okay, and I would use it.

I don't necessarily like all my fabrics to "match" in a quilt -- I think it adds interest to have different shades, etc. I like this with the narrow white border between the flowered print and the blocks

Is it something you can live with or does the difference really bother you? Your quilt is beautiful, if it really bothered me, I would not use it.

The lighter sashing border really makes the other show up as a lighter, faded red. Perhaps if you used one of the sage greens as the sashing border, with the red piece you have on there now, you might like that better.

Your quilt is beautiful. I don't think I can help with the border. It does look lighter in the picture, but maybe it would look okay anyway. I can't visualize well, and, if it were me, I would have to cut border size pieces for all four sides and look at it before I could decide.

But I love your quilt!!

I really like it just the way you have it. Coordinating is usually more interesting than matching IMHO. If you like it then go for it!

I would add a light border then the flowered on. To me it would bring out the quilt. I love you quilt though either way.
