I am working on a quilt right now that has some issues where the blocks come together there is fabric bunched up I am doing this quilt for a charity but I would like to get it to look as good as possible. I am quilting it on a longarm and over halfway thru it also has some stains on it like fabric dye. Guess we have to work with what we have anyone else have this problem??? could use some help

I think you are right;do the best you can and go on. Not everyone is as critical as we quilters are.

Also you are doing a wonderful service quilting these tops. A lot of the people piecing the tops may be beginners. They often are the ones who will come to these sew-ins getting experience and advice for their time. I know in a lot of guilds that I have belonged to they are the ones who give more time.

I agree with quiltstring, they will be warm and loved and look beautiful to whomever gets them. We are our worst critics.

I also quilt for a charity. I agree that you just do the best you can with what you are given. All the tops are made with the best intentions! I usually press the top before I quilt (even if it looks like it doesn't need it) this way I can predict issues before I get it on the frame. Sometimes it is quicker to take a border off & put it back on. If there is an extra thick intersection, you can hit it with some steam, then hit it with a hammer. You can also use a tailor's clapper.

Sounds like someone force-fitted a block that was too large with one that was smaller to make the points match.

Stains - wash the quilt in cold water/laundry detergent when you are done quilting and binding. Since it looks like dye, use a color catcher.

Have fun with it. Someone will love it.
