Default No saggy purse bottom

So I want to make some totes and purses but don't want a saggy bottom. What should I use?

Oh I must be in a punchy mood this morning, I'm super tempted to make jokes about various exercises to avoid saggy bottoms!

I've used that plastic needlepoint mesh they sell at craft stores. I've received heavy-duty totes that used thin plywood in the base. Or you can use really firm interfacing, depending on the bag's structure. Corrugated plastic boards would work too.

All sorts of options.

You can purchase plastic purse bottoms, but I have found that using a piece of foam board covered with fabric works just as well. Some people also use plastic canvas but it has some 'give' to it and isn't stiff enough for me. Foam board is usually available at Walmart in the 'back-to-school office-supply' section. Michael's also carries it, I think.

I did buy one of those purse bottoms which works, but is spendy. Tried the canvas, but, like alleyopp1 says, it does have some give and I didn't like that either. So now I use the foam board covered in fabric. I make a little sleeve for it. I've made myself a bunch of purses and that's what I use now and like.

What a great idea! I love to hear about 'reuse and repurpose' ideas!

I found that a double layer of the plastic needlepoint mesh works very well.

Most x-ray machines are computerized and print out discs. The use of film is yesterday's technology.
