Default I'm a member

I'm now a new member of the cutting your fingers club!!! I was using my cutter yesterday and somehow cut the top of my thumb, thankfully it was not deep. I have been sewing/cutting for over 15 years and this is the first time. Maybe it was because I had just put on a new blade!!!

OOh, Decky, so sorry to hear it. Gosh, it can happen to anyone. I always think I'm careful, but will stop and consider what I'm doing even more now. Hope it heals quickly!

I'm so sorry about your cut.

I was demoing the Quilters Slidelock at our guild meeting. An older guild member told other members that she had never gotten cut with a rotary cutter and never would because she knew what she was doing and spending that much money for something like that was foolish. At a sew day an ambulance had to be called to carry her to the hospital to get stitches from a bad cut on her hand from a rotary cutter. She had serious complications with the cut healing. She still has problems with her hand and can't do as much quilting as she use to. I always tell anyone that it isn't a matter of IF but WHEN you get cut. Please always use a safety tool when using a rotary cutter.

So sorry for your accident, hope it heals quickly! This is another good reminder not to get complacent with our sharp tools--it is so easy to do!

OUCH !!! Hopefully it's not hurting you too much...and heals quickly.....but you have reminded me that I need to be not so loosey goosey about cutting and to be careful.

OH, Pat, I am so sorry. We all have to be so careful. It is one reason I have started using my smaller blade Olfa rotary cutter. Hardly use my 45mm and sold my 60mm.

Ahh! I have done that too! I cut off the tip of my pointer finger...I was so stunned I stood looking at my finger tip trying to decide if I should go to the hospital to get stitches or not! So glad you are ok - be careful with that cutter!
