[QUOTE=Sandygirl;7055474]There are lots of top name solid collections. Do you need more of this fabric or are you just curious as to brand?

I was hoping to get it for the back. I'm actually looking for a dark green from the same line as well. At first, the goal was to find a coordinating batik, but I was unsuccessful. I have a new idea this morning -at one point, KQ had a lot of Clothworks American brand solids in their catalog. I remembered that because they normally don't identify brands. I found a person who was in the license plate challenge and emailed her to see if the fabrics have that distinctive, ribbed selvege..

I don't use enough solids to merit investing in color cards, but this could drive me to it.

Hugs,
Charlotte

Keepsake carries/has recently (in the last 1-2 years) carried the following brands of solids in the shop...Kona, Marcus Brothers, Northcott, a bit of Moda, and one other that, regretfully, escapes me for the moment. I'd try Marcus and Northcott for that edge.

As you know from shopping there, they're famous for covering the manufacturer names on the bolt ends. They don't want you to know who makes the fabric you're looking at...probably so you don't go buy it online or somewhere else. Their famous 'Amish Black' is a prime example of this practice from the catalog side of the business, too.

RJR!! That's the one I couldn't remember...but that's not their selvedge.

I'm going to 'borrow' your photo and run it by an online shop owner that I know to see if they can help identify the line for you.

Thanks for the tip, Ghostrider. I'll try Marcus and Northcott.

Interesting to think of KQ as an LQS! I've been there once and it was overwhelming! I was too confused to buy anything.

Some fabrics, but not all, I've gotten from Connecting Threads have that type of unusual selvedge. Don't know that KQ would have fabric from Connecting Threads.

Is the fabric a 'regular' weave? I've noticed that sateens have this gros-grain like edge.

try American made Brand, it has a woven selvage. I really like the quality and it is nice to have a made and grown American product.
