Norab...hope you had a great birthday.

I am going to wait for Nora b to come back from her vacation. I will wait for her to post who she has received packages from.

Barb will mail your candies soon. I am not getting the updates on this thread for some reason. Will have to check in more often and see and read all the posts.

Just got back from a spur of the moment out of town trip. The best thing in the huge pile of mail waiting for me - the birthday contest prize. It's great - love it! Thanks so much, barbarakibler23!

Happy October, everyone!!! Just had to get on ITunes and listen to a bunch of Johnny Mercer music "falling leaves, I remember you" etc they get me in an autumn frame of mind.
And Dear Barb - I'm not sending your Birthday candy till closer to your special day! I wouldn't be able to stand it!!
And I don't understand why candies show up late - not good form. The Golden Rule

Happy Fall everyone!

Just a quick check in from me. I'm working with lots of last year's candies as well as some from other swaps. I'm making 25 candy square blocks - at this point. I've almost got enough 5 blocks strips sewn together now to make 25 blocks of 25 squares. Does that make sense? I'll probably sash them in black or a grey and make a quilt for the basement sofa. It's right next to my sewing room so i'll be able to see it all the time. This idea was one I saw posted here on this thread I believe, a couple of months back. It is easy to remember: 5 blocks of 5 rows of 5 squares by the same down. 25 total blocks so I'll be using 625 candy squares. And I've barely made a dent in all my squares and I since I'm the last b'day girl again this year, I'll be getting plenty in February to restock the stash!

Today, though, is being spent at my mom's house. She's selling it so it's being painted and here I stand, at the kitchen island, my laptop set on top of an empty old plastic cat litter container. (Not a cat box, a box that was used to hold the fresh litter from the store. I definitely want to clarify that.) It's actually makes a great stand. Perfect height for me. But I'd rather be quilting!!!

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Hope your mom's house sells quickly, Janice.

I am doing a craft fair tomorrow and hubby has been helping me get all my displays ready. Yesterday I counted the candy squares I used in my Scrappy Swoon quilt and it was over 750! And it's not even a full sized quilt.... I am working on 16 patches for another Arkansas Crossroads quilt. I have got to use up some candy! I have too much to store.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We have had cool weather move in. I hope it puts people in mind to buy some quilts tomorrow!
