Default Outstanding Service

I frequently order from Marshall Dry Goods in Arkansas and I cannot get over their customer service. I ordered 4 yards of a navy calico and when I received it, it was more a medium blue, identical pattern. I called them and since I had ordered the same navy before had them check back orders. Sure enough they had sent the wrong fabric. I explained that I would keep the order I received but would like to re-order the correct one. The gentleman I spoke with said they would ship out what I needed at no charge to me since it was their mistake. Their fabric is reasonably priced, good quality and boy do I wish I could visit their store. But then again, that could be a bad thing!

I had great service from Shelly at the Viking Sewing Center located in the JoAnn's in Apple Valley, MN.

I needed a piece for a Huskylock 905 serger - she hunted and hunted for the piece until she found one in Texas (apparently there are only about ten of this part "loose" in the country!). She said that Viking's warehouse burned down.

Yes, it is nice to hear of good service. We are only human and we do all make mistakes.

I go to Marshall's several times a year. The employees are friendly and so down to earth and efficient! You feel like you have known them all your life after five minutes. The reps are approachable, just stick you head in their door and they don't mind walking all over the warehouse to show you just what you are asking for.

I've only placed one order with them, but was very happy with it. Like you, I would LOVE to visit the store. It's on my bucket list.

I had the same thing happen with Eleanor Burn's website. When I called about the mistake, they said just keep the first piece no charge and we'll send out the right one. Then they called me back to say they only had a piece of my desired fabric that was 1/4 yard short of what I ordered so did I still want it? I said yes. They sent it out and even credited my charge card for the 1/4 yard! This was even a sale fabric that was only about $4 a yard to begin with. Some companies still value good customer service.

I would rather spend my money where I believe I am valued as a customer - word of mouth recommendations like this are very important.
