It's not that hard to make your ironing board rectangle. Use your board some plywood (hubby made 2 big boards with one sheet of plywood), strips of wood, batting and fabric. Now if I can fins the pictures!! Lay your ironing board on the plywood, draw shape of ironing board onto plywood, cut wood strips and apply (hubby used screws) just outside of drawn lines, cover finished board with batting and fabric (I used the staple gun). I have this one dedicated to quilting but you could take the big board off and still use for clothes ironing if needed.

He did a nice job. I had to set up this with an existing June Taylor large ironing board cover. Love all the storage underneath. I bought them at Walmart.

Wow! Our husbands think alike! Mine did the same thing and I love the bigger ironing space.

My husband bought a 18" x 96" x 1" pine board, cut it to size for my ironing board. I covered it with insulabrite (sp?) and that silver ironing board fabric.

My husband took the big board he made to go over my ironing board and built me an ironing station for Christmas. Love it- so thankful for his skills!

That's exactly how I made mine! But I made my cover from Teflon ironing board fabric and put a draw string thru it so I could replace it when needed.

Am cautioning maniacquilter about putting weight on top of the Sterlite storage. I had several in a stack and with time the framework has buckled.

Perhaps hers will work better since it was manufactured into a set and mine was single drawers stacked. Just saying to be watching to see how that does. Love the sterlite products!

I took the dresser out of my DD bedroom since she no longer lives here. I added wheels to make it higher and also so I can easily move it when things fall behind it. I still need to add the irining board top.
