Default Hunter Star?

I am taking a class on the Hunter Star in a couple of weeks. I have been told to purchase two yards each of two contrasting colors. I have to do all the cutting before the class. Has anyone done one of these. Is your two colors like one dark and one white? What about baticks? Can you use a print. I'm just need some input.

Go to google images and type in hunter star quilt and many pics will come up. I saw prints, batiks and solids. Most used dark and lights. Hopes this helps.

I was going to suggest the same thing. Search for images on the web. There are lots out there. The Hunter Star is a favorite of mine but I have never made it.

This is by far the easiest Hunter's Star ...... Deb's rulers are the absolute best! (for me anyway...)

I used a blue/green batik mix that had a lot of "movement" and differences in it as a dark and a very light green batik as the light.
