What works best for you? Any way to be efficient and accurate? Seeing papers which let you cut eight at same time, not sure about those..... Thank you!! Susan

I just cut squares an inch bigger size than the finished size you want. If you feel comfortable with a line drawn or seam allowance drawn, then do it. Sometimes following a line can be easier. After cutting them, I carefully starch and press them then trim them down to size. It is simpler this way then to actually cut them 7/8" inch larger. I also used Thangles for a scrappy look but that started to cost too much money. I am sure there will be different methods posted. Try them all and see what works best for you.

I like El Burns method for 8 at a time using two large squares. 6 in for 2 1/2 in squares. 8 in for 3 1/2.
draw an x on stacked squares right sides facing each other and sew on both sides of lines. Cut in half both ways then on lines and you have 8 HST that need just a small bit of squaring up.

Either I cut 1" bigger or if I need lots of HST's at once then I make 8 at a time.
I don't buy the paper. It's easy to make my own with pencil and ruler.
