Default Bolt of Fabric

Has anyone purchased a whole bolt of fabric? I use so much white fabric up and could use this fabric by the bolt. Do you get a price break if you buy the whole bolt? Where do you get your best price? thanks

I buy wide muslin by the bolt often. I wait till I have a 50 or 60% off coupon and buy the whole bolt. Sometimes Joanns has specials on full bolts of muslin, also flannel. A few times I have been able to get a great deal when a store is clearing out fabric. You can get a reduced price if you buy all the fabric left on the bolt. If they have to cut it-no discount

Hancocks of Paducah used to give a quantity discount on full bolts (15 yds) of Kona solids; not sure they do it anymore though.

I have purchased whole bolts of Moda Bella solids or Kona Cotton solids - usually I buy them while on they are on sale or with a coupon but usually you get a price break for buying in bulk. A few places to check are: www.fatquartershop.com; www.fabric.com; www.greenfairyquilts.com . Greenfairy quilts usually has the best price on bolts of fabric and they have free shipping. Good luck.

I have purchased a bolt from Marshal Dry Goods It was a really good price, but I used their wholesale site because I was doing a project for a daycare.

I buy Kona solid white and black by the bolt. Usually at Hancocks with a 50% off "one fabric item" coupon--the entire bolt only counts as one item.

I bought a few from a local textile company who has an open sale twice a year -- otherwise they only sell wholesale. But I think Marshall Dry Good does.

yup, I mainly purchase flannel by the bolt, specially when they have a good sale. I also bought a bolt of fabric a while back, it was 10 dollars for "undetermined" fabric, but feels and sews up wonderful..it was a good find

I buy white, black, unbleached ex wide muslin, an batting by the bolt (full roll). Joann's is the closes that will give a discount on bolts, so about 4 times a year, when the right coupon comes out and the item is not already on sale I will buy any of them. I have been looking at the green Fairy site, will do some comparing when my next coupons come out.
