I'd like to look these up on how to use them. The box didn't have instructions.

Here's what I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong and/or fill in the gaps.

A. Binding
B. ?
C. ?
D. Ruffler?
E. Hemmer of some sort?
F. Roll edge foot
G. Screw driver (derr)
H. Button holer

B appears to be a gathering foot and C is an Edge stitch foot. You've correctly identified the rest

B. Gathering foot-- Increase top tension to increase gathers.
C. Edgestitch foot--For joining edges of fabric or laces together
E. Adjustable wide hemmer
F. Narrow hemmer
The others are correct. The black ones have a special name: "blackside"; they were made during WWII when other metals were dedicated to the war effort. They are quite collectible and worth more than the shiny attachments. There are some good demos on YouTube showing how to use all of these.

See if your library has "The Sewing Machine Attachment Handbook" by Charlene Phillips. This book does not have anything on the buttonholer you have pictured, but it seems to me that there is an ISMACS section on attachments.

has information on ruffler use, more written than you thought possible with this one attachment, at least 30 pages with excellent pictures. This link was shared with 4-H helpers, but available to all.

I removed the link to the dressydolly site because I just tried it, and the ruffler info is no longer there. You can find it by googling "The ruffler Unruffled by Carla C., Dolly Designs"

YouTube has some great videos on using these attachments. Just search "vintage sewing machine attachments". The book by Charlene Phillips mentioned above is great! She lives in my area and has been to my guild. Very knowledgeable about vintage attachments.

B is a gather foot. It is made so that there is no presser right behind the stitching, which allows the thread to be pulled up and the fabric to pucker. It does a pretty good job of locking it too, so don't use it and then think you can pull the thread to gather it up tighter.

I've played with the ruffler, gather foot, the button holer and had success.

The wide hemmer is something I need to practice with. And I'm not finding many youtube videos on it. The ones I am finding are of people who aren't sure they're using it right and having trouble. Or done in a way that I'm having trouble understanding it.
Guess I'll just have to fuss with it. Good thing that I have some scraps to play with.
