I have arrived at my destination safe and sound. A long day yesterday and an overnight stay along the way. It was too risky to drive the last two hours as the kangaroos are out in force after dusk and I couldn't take the chance of hitting one. The trip is a good 10 hours of driving with rest stops in between. I travelled along our New England highway and I noticed the trees all starting to drop their leaves and change colour. It does get very cold on the tablelands and does snow at times, the altitude is much higher than where I live. I am in Mudgee which is only 4 hours from Sydney. Our son lives here and my husband and I will be attending our grand daughters Deb ball tomorrow night. I will stay until Thursday and then travel back home with Stan (DH) for Easter. It will be a nice break and yes, I did bring my little Janome Gem sewing machine to get a little sewing done. Also bought some crochet and business book work. No rest for the wicked nor for the righteous, they say! So in between spending time with family my time will be taken care of.

My card should arrive tomorrow. I'll let everyone know so my partner can post a photo.

Betty, glad you're safely at your destination. The roo's are that fierce to drivers. I've seen them on tv, and they look like they travel in herds, sometimes on the high ways, and all over the golf greens. Amazing, to us in the US think of them as cute creatures, but if you live with them, they are tiny terrorists. And not that tiny either. we'd all love to see a picture of them if you have one.

Betty, Happy to hear you arrived safe and sound....it certainly was a long ride. Know you will enjoy some family time and a little sewing too. Have fun!

Betty I am so glad you arrived safely. I hope you tell us all about it after you get back home or whenever you can.

Lynnie I can't wait to see your card.

I know we all like pictures so I want to show you a picture of a beautiful microwave potholder or bowl holder that I did not have from 'Klaws' (Karen). She sent me a set, and I would see them in pictures and some that others had made, but now I have a set of my own. Thank you so much Karen.

I am hoping (saying a little prayer even) that if she takes a journey at the latter part of summer that I may get to spend some time with her around my neck of the woods.

Hey Susan do you live anywhere near the rockslide that occurred on I 75? I came through there last weekend.

Love that b&w postcard that JuneBillie did -- very elegant! And so sweet of her to send one to Miriam's mom, too!

Would love to hear about your travels, Betty J. I have a niece who moved to Australia -- twice. She's back home for good now -- in Ireland. And would also love to see photos of kangaroos! Have fun!
