Bargello Finished
Hello, finally finished my last UFO so now I can start new projects. But of course someone has me quilting a couple of their quilts but I don't count those as UFO's on me. I don't normally quilt for others but 2 are for a lady I've been teaching how to make a quilt and the other is a neighbor who gave me some stonehedge backings so feel I should do something for her in return.
Anyway, here is my bargello I drew up using a program called Bargello Stitcher 1.0, free online, though I have no idea where I found it. She mentioned she loved dark browns and golds so that's what I went with. When I went to the quilt show in Des Moines either last year or the year before they were showing the bargello patterns using the bubble fabrics along with a fabric that went from light to dark to match. I bought both but decided the fabric didn't go far enough into the dark side so found all my fabrics in my stash. I did have to order the dark brown backing thru Hancock's of Paducah but otherwise I feel good that I could make this using what I had excluding the bubble fabric. Since I doubt I'll ever use the leftovers for anything I decided to incorporate what I had left into the borders on 2 sides and right out to the binding. Pain in the tush getting it to match up on the binding but I got it done and I'm happy with how it turned out. The quilting pattern I purchased from Intelligent Quilters called Curly Weave. Saw another bargello quilted with a similar pattern and knew that's what I wanted to use. I also decided to use a medium gold thread instead of a darker thread so it didn't take away from the light areas.
Hope you like it.

I think the name of the program you used is Bargello Sketcher 1.0.
Lovely quilt.
