Yes, I have. I designed and made this heart one with reds, pinks, AND purples!(less noticeable in this shot)
The other one, Stars, also my own, was done years ago with reds and accents of rose.

I think pinks and reds would look good together. Just watch what shade you use. You might need to put in some light pink or white to break it up a little bit. I can't wait to see it.

The two colors clash if you are wearing them, not if they are in a quilt.

Love red and pink together. As others said pay attention to the undertones and you will have a beautiful quilt.

I think you can put any color combination in a quilt that you want to. Many on here are saying the red and pink work and it does. Tomorrow try wearing a pink shirt with red pants. Not the same thing at all.

If that's what you think ....... though, I think with the same colour combo theories as discussed for fabric/quilts, I see no sense in your non-clothing combining.

Macybaby - Love your quilt! Well done! Did you use one of your "special" antique machines to put it together? What pattern is it?

Jan - Beautiful work!! Love your hearts!

I think that we can take a lot more liberties with color combinations now than they did in years past. When I am selecting fabrics, I rarely think about the rules. I just go by what I like the looks of. When I am unsure, I ask here on the board and never fail to get great responses. The thing is, the responses are bound to be split in both directions which just shows that it's all a matter of opinion.

I love scrappy quilts and I am now imagining one of all the pinks and reds of every shade, and yes, maybe even some purples. Oh, what a pretty quilt that will be!!!
