Default Spice Market Jacket

This is a jacket (car coat length) that I made last fall. I just realized that I had never posted pics of it. It's made from an old pattern that I updated. It was originally a dropped shoulder and needed shoulder pads which I didn't want. I had received the Spice Market pattern free from somewhere and always liked it so I decided to make a jacket out of it. I just loved the spicey colors. All the fabrics were from my stash. This was first time doing any type of log cabin square. I had to make it smaller (I used the graph paper technique. Thanks to whoever posted that). It was fun and I was very happy with the result.

that is awesome -- you did a fabulous job on that -- do you wear it much?

I do. I wear it to work regularly. I made it by putting the blocks directly onto a backing fabric using the stitch and flip method so there is no flannel or batting in between the blocks and backing. It makes it less bulky and heavy and definitely not that warm. I live in Houston and we have so little cold weather that anything that is cold weather only rarely gets worn.
