I didn't know there was such a thing, but I just put some pictures in there. I'll definitely start using it now.

In the topic I can put all the details such as pattern name, types of threads used, batting used, etc. I see no reason to have my photos on the QB in two different areas.

Hunting down 'latest started threads' is way more cumbersome. Also they may have posted pics in the middle of threads they didn't start... I know I do. The albums feature is a convenience. I have 10 albums going, currently. Some are albums of blocks I've made or received in block swaps. They are all pics that I didn't start a thread for.

To start making albums, go to your "My Profile" page and follow directions. It's no harder than uploading photos anywhere else on the board. If they are too big for the board, they won't upload.

This is how you make your pics smaller: When you go to upload a photo here, you will hit the tree in the picture frame, and then choose "from computer". Then you get the browse button. When you click on 'browse', your photo files from your computer will open. When you find the photo you want to upload, first right click on it and then click on 'resize photo' from the menu. Then click on 'small' and a new small version of the same photo will open in your file. Click to upload that one.

When you do this once, you'll see it's easy.

I'm going to try this as soon as I have a little free time. I think it's a great idea. Thanks for the instructions, sewbizgirl.

Like many other QB members, I didn't know about he album...Sewbizgirl says it's not any harder than posting pictures, but that in itself is always a road block for me. I have not been successful with my Ipad so I download from my Nikon which entails for or five steps through my LightRoom application to get them to fit. I'm sure there's an easier way....

I haven't tried using an Ipad to store my photos... I would think that they are pretty limited in terms of storage space.

I didn't know that feature was on the site, should have.
Started uploading photos, but some are too big. Gotta find a resize program.

At the bottom of any page is a menu. HELP is the first item. Click on that.

The next page has a list of help/ how to items.

Look for ALBUMS. Click on that and you will find instructions there.

Hope this helps.

I have always been curious why people don't use their home page more to store their quilting history. It is a nice way to get an overview of the people we talk to and play with every day. I wouldn't put any personal info there but general biography and likes/ dislikes can really help us get to know each other.

I like to use the albums to keep a history of my quilts. I wish more people would.

Also you may need yo resize your photos:
