I have received them from very reputable places and a few of them were only l/2 size.

Sorry, I love precuts. Use them all the time and have never had a problem.

Some were even worse than that one. Ended up cutting them all down to 4.50 inches.

I find Moda precuts are true to size but I won't buy others

I have purchased charm packs in the past but since I have only used them in table runners or children's quilts, I haven't had any trouble making them work.

I had a similar problem with that same designer's precuts. I was mostly able to adapt them to what I wanted to do, but did have to buy a couple of fat quarters to get the quilt done. No more precuts. Most precuts have been shy of the complete 5" or 10" or whatever. And yes, I'm measuring from point to point. I'll make my own cutting mistakes, thank you.
